Operations Consulting · Warehouse & DC

I help SMB warehouse operators fix what's actually broken — on the floor, not in a slide deck.

I'm Ben Williams — Marine Corps veteran, and for most of the last decade I've worked every level of a distribution operation, from the floor to running an 800-associate Amazon fulfillment center to leading network-wide programs across 81 facilities. Now I bring that same operator's eye to small and mid-sized businesses that can't afford a big-firm engagement and wouldn't get much out of one anyway.

No aggressive contracts. No upsell. First call is a real conversation, not a sales pitch.

Why work with me

Consulting that behaves like an operator, not a vendor.

01

Not a big firm — and that's the point

You don't get a partner who pitches, then hands you off to a team of associates. You get me, on your floor, for the whole engagement. No layers, no re-explaining your business three times.

02

Floor-to-leadership experience

I've picked, packed, managed shifts, run a full site P&L, and led programs across 81 facilities. That means I can diagnose a problem at the associate level and translate it into something your leadership will actually fund.

03

Engagements sized to the problem

You get a scope that fits what's actually broken — not a retainer designed to keep me on your books. If a $30 spreadsheet fix beats a $30,000 tool, that's the recommendation you'll get, even when it means a shorter engagement.

04

Built for SMB reality

Big-firm playbooks assume big-firm budgets, staff, and IT. I build fixes that a lean team can actually run on Monday morning — not consulting artifacts that end up in a shared drive nobody opens.

What I do

One primary service. One honest side-offering.

Primary

Hands-on operations consulting

I come into your warehouse or DC, walk the floor with your team, and get honest about what's slowing you down. Then I stay long enough to actually fix it — whether that's throughput, labor efficiency, standard work, accountability, staffing models, or leadership rhythm.

  • Diagnostic walk-through & operational assessment
  • Standard work and SOPs your team will actually use
  • Throughput, labor, and workflow redesign
  • KPI frameworks and floor-to-leadership visibility
  • Coaching for frontline supervisors and managers
  • On-site or virtual — whichever the problem needs
Secondary — when it's the right fix

Custom tools & software

Sometimes the spreadsheet really is the problem. When a purpose-built tool is genuinely the shortest path to a better operation, I'll build one — small, focused, owned by your team.

I've designed, built, and shipped my own commercial operations software — so when a custom build is the right answer, it's not my first one.

Just as often, I'll tell you your existing tools are fine and the fix is elsewhere. That call comes after the diagnostic, not before.

Book a first conversation

The first call is a real conversation, not a pitch.

Tell me what's going sideways in your operation. If I can help, I'll say so and we'll talk about how. If I can't, I'll tell you that too — and usually point you at someone who can.

Most recently I ran a two-site, 45-person national operation — where we lifted throughput 30%, cut shipping costs 38%, and took asset yield from 71% to 90%.
